Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EEmentor OÜ ("EEmentor", "we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you visit or shop at stem.eementor.co, create an account, sign up for emails, or submit a project to our Projects hub. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Estonian law.
1. Who we are
The data controller is EEmentor OÜ (registry code 16643220), Akadeemia tee 7/2-310, 12611 Tallinn, Estonia. Contact us about privacy at shop@eementor.co.
2. What we collect
- Order and account data: name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, order history, and messages you send us.
- Payment data: payments are handled by our payment providers. We don't see or store your full card details.
- Newsletter and ebook signups: your email address and the tags that show what you signed up for (for example, our free ebook).
- Projects hub submissions: the project title, description, build steps, photos, files and links you submit, the name and location you ask us to credit, your customer account ID and email, and your consent confirmations.
- Comments: the name, email and text of comments you post on lessons or projects.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
- To process and deliver your orders, handle returns and provide support: performance of a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)).
- To send newsletters, the free ebook and new-lesson updates: your consent (art. 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To review and publish your project submissions, credit you and email you about their status: performance of the submission agreement you accept when submitting, and your consent to publish.
- To keep our store secure, prevent fraud and spam, and improve our website: our legitimate interests (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Analytics and marketing cookies: your consent, which you can change at any time in the cookie banner.
4. What we publish
When we publish a project you submitted, we show the project content (title, text, photos, files and links) and the credit name and location you chose. We never publish your email address or account details. You can ask us to remove a published project at any time.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the store, under data processing agreements:
- Shopify (online store platform, checkout, customer accounts and Shopify Email)
- Payment providers used at checkout (for example Shopify Payments, PayPal)
- Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order
- Render (Frankfurt, Germany), which hosts our Projects hub submission app
- Resend, which sends Projects hub notification emails
- Authorities, where we're required to by law
We don't sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Some providers, such as Shopify and our fulfilment partners, may process data outside the European Economic Area. When this happens, we rely on safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the store (for example, to keep items in your cart and keep you signed in). With your consent, we also use analytics and marketing cookies. You can manage your choices in our cookie banner and in your browser settings.
8. How long we keep it
- Order and accounting records: 7 years, as required by Estonian accounting law.
- Account data: until you close your account.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Project submissions: for as long as the project is published, plus up to 3 years as a record of your consent. Rejected submissions are deleted within 12 months.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing before you withdrew). To use these rights, email shop@eementor.co. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, www.aki.ee) or the authority in your country.
10. Children
Our store is intended for adults and for children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Children under 13 may not create an account or submit projects themselves. A parent or guardian must do this for them.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when it last changed. For significant changes, we'll let you know by email or on our website.
