Electronics basics: start here

About this path

Start here if you have never built a circuit. In ten short lessons you learn the ideas and parts that every electronics project is built on, and you build a real circuit in every lesson. You don't write any code yet: the UNO board simply powers your circuits through its USB cable.

You get to know your kit and the safety rules, find out what voltage, current and resistance are, discover how a breadboard is connected inside, and learn what the UNO's power pins do. Then you light LEDs the right way round, read resistor colour codes, compare series and parallel circuits, switch a light with a push button, build a dimmer with a potentiometer, and finally read a circuit diagram and build from it.

All parts come from the EEMENTOR UNO R3 Starter Kit. Each lesson takes 25 to 40 minutes and has a wiring diagram, a parts list and simple experiments that show how things work. When you finish, continue with Arduino basics with the UNO R3 and write your first program.
